New Patients – Bastrop, TX

Getting Enrolled at Smiles University Pediatric Dentistry

Ahead of your first appointment at Smiles University Pediatric Dentistry, we want you to be as informed as possible and have a clear set of expectations before meeting our dentists and dental team. Below, you’ll find important information regarding your child’s first visit, online forms to fill out, financing options and more. If you have any questions you’d like to address, you can give us a call any time and we’ll gladly help you prepare for your child’s appointment.

Your Child’s First Dental Visit

Depending on the age of your child what we do during the first visit varies. For younger children and patients not comfortable climbing in the chair by themselves we may do a lap exam to help introduce care by a pediatric dentist. Older children typically have x-rays, a cleaning, comprehensive exam, and a fluoride treatment (optional). We always are respectful of special requests as parents know their children better than anyone.

Dental Insurance Welcome

Having a dental insurance plan can make it easier to cover the most essential treatments for your child. Our dental office accepts all PPO dental plans even if we are not a preferred provider for your particular plan. We are happy to file your insurance and send in pre-determinations prior to restorative treatment.  Feel free to give us a call directly so we can confirm the details of your plan and answer any questions.

CareCredit Financing Available

Even if you do not have a dental insurance plan at this time, but would like payment options, CareCredit is available. When you enroll into a CareCredit plan, you can pay for treatments in monthly installments over several months, rather than paying one lump sum. Not only can this make it easier to fit care into your monthly budget, but you can typically receive little to no interest attached to your payments.
